With conflicting reports in the blogosphere, it's been hard getting at the truth of the Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson breakup rumors. And until we hear it from them, anything can happen. On Wednesday, Tony told Dallas Morning News reporters, "I'm not talking about Jessica," when they approached him as he was playing golf with Jerry Jones Jr. at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine.

But after taking several oaths not to divulge my sources, I've been told by two people close to Tony and Jess that the glam couple is over, kaput, splitsville.

On Wednesday, Jessica's rep shot down those reports by telling E! Online: "Not true ... I spoke to Jess yesterday. ... They are still together." E! cites an anonymous source as saying that Tony will be Jessica's date this weekend when her sister, Ashlee, marries Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz.

On Saturday, though, Tony was in Chicago, and the word back from that scene is that he was saying, "Me and Jessica are done." Somewhere in the world, Jerry Jones is shaking his Magic 8 Ball and asking , "Will this ever end?"
