In show biz, so many flings to remember

Celebrity affairs are nothing new – it's a wonder people in the spotlight get married at all. Unions that last longer than a few years are pretty impressive in show business. Here are a few long-running relationships that may not make it to the final stretch.

WHO: Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, married 18 years

STATE OF THE UNION: Strained, but together for now

WHY: Springsteen divorced model Julianne Phillips in 1987 and took up with backup singer Scialfa. But a New Jersey man's recent divorce papers name the Boss as the other man. A few years ago, Springsteen's marriage was tested after rumors surfaced he was romancing a 9/11 widow. The only thing for sure: The women with whom he's associated are all redheads.

WHO: Mel Gibson and wife Robyn, married 28 years

STATE OF THE UNION: The mother of Gibson's seven children filed for divorce April 13.

WHY: He was photographed near his Costa Rican home frolicking with Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva. Word is he and Robyn have been separated for more than two years, soon after Mel's DUI arrest and anti-Semitic rant.

WHO: Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, married 11 years

STATE OF THE UNION: Strained, but together for now

WHY: He reportedly strayed last year while she was doing the Sex and the City movie. The latest reports peg them living separate lives while Sarah finds a Manhattan pad for her and son James, 6. Tick, tick, tick.
