Springer gets new TV gig

Talk-show host Jerry Springer (Dancing With the Stars) is taking on another TV program. He'll be the new frontman of America's Got Talent, NBC executive Craig Plestis announced Monday.
Mr. Springer is "the perfect ringmaster" for the talent competition, Mr. Plestis said in a statement. "To say the least, he is known for presiding over an unpredictable show where the unexpected is the typical order of each day."
Mr. Springer has hosted The Jerry Springer Show for 16 years.
Here's an eclectic fantasy gathering: An anonymous person using the name "Jaragon" won dinner with Warren Buffett, Tim McGraw and Robert Redford by casting the sole bid of $5,000 in a charity auction, according to the Web site Charityfolks.com.
The 50-person dinner on Saturday at the home of Mr. Buffett's daughter was auctioned to benefit the James Redford Institute for Transplant Awareness.
Previously, the Glide Foundation, a San Francisco anti-poverty charity, auctioned off a lunch with Billionaire Buffett for $620,100.
A lawyer for Sean Combs denies that Diddy did it. Gerard Rechnitzer filed a lawsuit on Friday claiming that Diddy punched him outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Feb. 25. He is seeking an undisclosed amount exceeding $25,000.
