Must-see shows by Texas artists for July 3-9

04:55 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 1, 2009

By MARIO TARRADELL / Music Critic

So if you're going to name your band Electric Touch, you'd better make sure you're plugged in, right? Exactly.

Austin's four-piece group with Shane Lawlor, Christopher Leigh, Louis Messina Jr. and Ross Dubois adds swirling synthesizers to its head-spinning brand of arena rock. The outfit's instantly infectious, self-titled debut CD, released last year by Houston's Justice Records, sports 10 songs with enough guitar, bass and drum power

to work at a stadium venue. But it also has that electronic vibe that fits perfectly at a club bathed in strobe lights. Crank it up.
