Must-see shows by Texas artists for June 26-July 2

01:48 PM CDT on Wednesday, June 24, 2009

By MARIO TARRADELL / Music Critic

Ben Kweller, 28, began his professional music career as one of the founders of Radish, a self-proclaimed "sugar metal" band from Greenville, Texas.

That was back in 1993, when Kweller was barely a teenager. Fast-forward more than a decade and we have Changing Horses, Kweller's fourth studio album as a solo artist. The 10-song project is more country than any of the Texas-raised singer-songwriter's other efforts. It was recorded in Austin and New York. Kweller, who's also dabbled in classic rock and punk rock styles, currently resides in Austin.
