Would you walk a mile for $38?

Hundreds will – and then some.

Participants in a walk to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization will cover 60 miles over three days beginning Friday.

Walkers who hike the 60 miles in the Breast Cancer 3-Day will each have raised a minimum of $2,300 that goes toward cancer research.

The event starts Friday at Southfork Ranch in Parker and will end Sunday at Southern Methodist University.

Walkers will camp out together at the end of the first and second days. It's a chance, the organizers said, for participants to get to know each other better and share their stories.

Family, friends and other supporters can play a role in the 3-Day by showing up for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as six designated cheering stations throughout the event course.
