Developer Hillwood said Monday that accounting giant Deloitte LLP will spend $300 million to build a conference and learning center in Westlake.

Construction will start next year on the 750,000-square-foot campus, which will open in 2011. Deloitte's project will be built on 300 acres in Hillwood's Circle T Ranch near Fidelity Investment's regional campus.

The complex – which will include 800 guest accommodations, dining facilities, a ballroom, business center, recreational facilities and a fitness center – will be used by the accounting firm to train its professionals.

"As our industry evolves faster than ever before, Deloitte's learning and leadership development center will enable our people to take the lead in shaping the future of our profession," Barry Salzberg, Deloitte's chief executive, said in a statement.

In April, Tarrant County provided economic incentives, which could total $3.5 million, for the project.

Deloitte said it expects to add 100 full-time jobs at the new campus, plus 300 to 400 non-Deloitte employees.

The firm said the new leadership development center could attract as many as 40,000 visitors annually.
