'No diving' signs target bridge jumpers

Earlier this week, News 8 showed you how scores of teens were running across Farm Road 3002 and leaping off the bridge into Ray Roberts Lake. New signs installed on the bridge are already keeping jumpers away, but some of them have already found a new jumping-off point.

Hit-and-run driver injures teen near bridge jumping spot

Christina Sailor has a broken leg, a broken arm and a serious head injury as a result of the accident.

A bridge near Sanger is now a popular spot for thrill seekers who take a risky jump into the water. But Christina Sailor nearly died just watching. Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver that left the 18-year-old critically injured. "It tears me up, knowing that he can just take off like that with no regard for human life," said her father, John Hardwegg.

While some call it an adrenaline rush, risky recreation or just plain fun, others say bridge jumpers are risking their lives. In fact, an accident has left an 18-year-old seriously injured after she jumped off a bridge near Sanger, just north of the Denton County line in Cooke County.

Police shoot man at ex-wife's McKinney home

A man is seen with injuries to his face after a woman's ex-husband was shot inside her home.

Authorities said one person is dead after police were called Sunday to a McKinney home. Police said a woman called 911 at about 3:30 p.m. She told police her ex-husband and boyfriend were in the midst of a physical altercation.

Swarm of bees take over vacant home, attack

The city will hire a pest control company to remove the bees at the owner's expense.

A Collin County neighborhood is buzzing with frustration since thousands of bees have made a home out of a vacant house. Neighbors say it's taking too long to remove what they consider to be a hazard to themselves and their children.

Calls for a national speed limit get little support in Texas

Several states passed resolutions asking congress to lower the speed limit to 55. Texas is not one of them.

Texas currently has the highest speed limit in the country - 80 miles per hour out west. But one lawmaker says you can stretch your gas dollar by dialing that down to 55. There are calls for a national speed limit but not everybody thinks a limit would be a good idea.
