THE DEAL: The Sierra Club and The Clorox Co. have partnered to promote a line of eco-friendly household cleaning products. Containers will bear the Sierra Club logo and the environmental group will get an undisclosed share of the profits.
THE FALLOUT: Club members in northern Michigan have resigned over the arrangement, and a number of state chapters have voiced opposition.
PRO AND CON: Opponents say the Sierra Club shouldn't be taking money from a corporation that uses toxic chemicals in some of its products. Defenders say the deal will encourage more consumers to go green.
