Jazzy Music during Newscast Credits

Q: Not sure who could best answer this but I was curious about the jazzy music that is played during the Holiday end credits shown at the end of newscasts the past couple weeks. Who is the artist? Thanks!

A: Thanks for noticing.  We run “extended credits” during the holidays to let our viewers know the names of the many dedicated men and women behind the scenes at WFAA.  Mike, what you heard is production library music (also known as a “needle drop), and unavailable for purchase.  These are studio musicians who perform music used on TV and radio station in generic fashion.  Hope that helps.
