DALLAS - The Dallas Department of Sustainability and Construction has opened a temporary field office at the Lakewood Library to assist residents in getting permits to repair hail damage from last week's storm.
Workers will be on hand to answer any questions, especially for residents living in historic or conservation districts. There are certain rules and regulations that may need to be followed in those areas.
Additionally, contractors and roofers can come here to get storm permits. You need a permit for damage of more than $500.
The library is located at 6121 Worth Street and will be open until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
As of Tuesday, the National Weather Service said last week's storm is the sixth-costliest hail storm in Texas history.
