After a balmy January day that saw temperatures approaching 80 degrees in parts of North Texas, another polar plunge is headed our way.

An arctic cold front will arrive before dawn Monday, bringing with it a biting north wind and a 30-40 degree temperature drop.

Highs on Monday will struggle to reach the upper 30s, and winds gusting to 45 mph will make it feel even colder. Low temperatures overnight Monday and Tuesday will be in the teens.

No precipitation will accompany this round of cold weather.

On Wednesday, the mercury moves closer to 50 degrees as a high, and by next weekend, we'll be back in the 60s.
