DALLAS – Widespread rain is still on the way! Rainfall totals with this system, which will arrive Sunday night, will range from ½” to 1”.

Clouds will steadily increase throughout the day today and most locations will stay dry. With cloudy skies in our forecast, high temperatures will struggle to make it much above 50 degrees.

One or two spots well to the west of Fort Worth may see a few sprinkles or light rain showers late this afternoon but the bulk of the precipitation will begin tonight. Rain will develop this evening in our western counties and spread to the east as the night progresses.

I do not expect any snow, sleet or freezing rain because low temperatures will stay above freezing. My forecast low tonight will be near 38 degrees.

Late tonight and during the day tomorrow, a widespread, cold rain is likely across all of North Texas. Once again, the precipitation will be all rain because temperatures will stay above freezing.

My forecast high tomorrow will be near 46 degrees. The rain will end from west to east late tomorrow afternoon with dry weather expected in the New Year’s Eve evening.

That means no worries in regards to rain for Big D NYE, but it will be a chilly night with a midnight temperature expected to be near 40 degrees
