Even with the overcast skies, the temperature spent Thursday slowly rising. The sun cracked through the cloud cover, doing just enough to melt much of the ice and snow that remained after the Christmas day winter storm.
Overnight, temperatures will continue to trend upward, staying above freezing for the first time in two days –– the low is just 37 degrees. Some communities north and west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Area will see some fog and rain drizzle, which could make for slick roads for Friday morning's commute.
But that doesn't mean Dallas and Fort Worth are totally immune –– a light morning fog is possible, but it comes with a high of 47 degrees. Overnight, the low dips to 27, making for a cold, breezy evening.
And on Saturday? Sunny skies, light winds and a high of 48 should make for a good start to the weekend.
