LANCASTER — More than two months after tornadoes shredded parts of Lancaster, many of the homes are still wrapped in tarp or still in shambles.
An organizer for tornado relief efforts said out of 100 homes that still need to be bulldozed, 30 of them were not insured — and people still need help.
"If you're a contractor, or you do windows or whatever... if you want to be able to help them, make some donations to them, because they're having a hard time getting these things done," said Donna Campbell, who organized a benefit for storm victims on Saturday.
There was entertainment, vendors sold food, there was a bounce house for the kids, and business owners offered things like $6 haircuts and $10 massages to raise funds — all of it going to tornado victims.
Turnout for the event, was smaller than expected, but donations are still being accepted to the Lancaster tornado relief fund.
