LANCASTER -- The city of Lancaster is asking residents to prepare for severe weather by registering for its code red weather warning system.
It is a free service that will call you in the event of severe weather.
You have to register to get a phone call.
You can register on the city of Lancaster website.
During the tornadoes last week, calls from the code red system started 18 minutes before the city's warning sirens went off.
The system can make up to 60,000 calls per hour.
