BEDFORD, Texas (AP) — A capital murder warrant has been issued for a North Texas man after a woman he was living with was found stabbed to death at their apartment.

Bedford police on Monday announced the search for 26-year-old suspect Robert Atlas.

Lt. David Smith says Atlas and 27-year-old Tracy Anderson had dated in the past and were living together. Smith had no immediate information on whether they were still a couple.

Police on Sunday afternoon received a call from Anderson's mother about not being able to contact her daughter. Officers went to the apartment, found evidence of forced entry and located the victim's body inside.

Police initially said Atlas was sought amid concerns about his welfare. Smith on Monday said Atlas is now considered a fugitive.
