HOUSTON — Jurors have convicted a Houston woman of stabbing her boyfriend to death with a 5½-inch stiletto.
Prosecutors said Ana Trujillo stabbed 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson at least 25 times in the face with her shoe during an argument in June at his Houston condominium.
Testimony showed the victim bought the $1500 shoes for Trujillo.
Her attorneys said she was defending herself from an attack by Andersson, a UH professor and researcher.
Prosecutor John Jordan told jurors that Trujillo's actions were not self-defense but "vicious murder."
Jack Carroll, Trujillo's attorney, countered that his client did the only thing she could do while being attacked: defend herself.
The jury got the case after closing arguments Tuesday in Trujillo's Houston trial. They deliberated only two hours.
Trujillo, 45, faces up to life in prison.
