BAYTOWN, Texas – A University of Houston student was hospitalized after being trampled during the Baytown’s Great Bull Run Saturday at Royale Purple Raceway.

The event is fashioned after the traditional Running of the Bulls held annually in Spain. Two dozen bulls chase participants in six races.

Twenty-one-year-old UH student Hugo Soto was hurt. At one point he was wearing a helmet cam, which caught some the event on video.

Soto suffered a head injury.

The Great Bull Run is scheduled to come to North Texas on April 5 at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis.
