WACO (AP) — Two children died in an early morning house fire in Waco.
Police and fire units responded to the fire at 2:10 a.m. Saturday. According to a statement from the city of Waco, once the fire was extinguished, it was determined that a four-year-old and an 11-month-old had died in the blaze.
The 21-year-old mother of the children escaped with two of her other children, and they were transported by ambulance to Hillcrest Hospital. Their conditions were not available.
The front of the home was full engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived with four engines, a ladder truck and 19 personnel. Officials believe the fire started in the front bedroom, where the two dead were found.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause.
