Helicopter crash
EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Army authorities say three people died after a medical helicopter crashed at Fort Bliss, just outside El Paso.
Army officials said the helicopter was working in a support role for training missions when the crash occurred Friday night.
Rick Ericson, a spokesman for Omniflight Helicopters says the three killed were the crew of a Southwest Medevac flight, the pilot and two paramedics. Their names have not been released.
Post spokeswoman Jean Offutt told the El Paso Times that the helicopter caught on fire.
Federal investigators including from the National Transportation Safety Board were en route to the scene.
