The Republican leadership in Texas has come up with a new way to keep undocumented immigrants from coming into the Lone Star State.

They have authorized DPS to spend $1.3 million a week for a law enforcement surge to combat the increase in illegal immigrants. The Republicans have proposed upping the enforcement.

Governor Rick Perry and the state's upper Republican brass said the spending comes in what they are calling "the absence of adequate resources to secure the border."

The surge isn't endless. It's supposed to stop at the end of the year.

You may recall in recent weeks, Texas started transporting undocumented immigrants to neighboring states to handle an increase illegal immigrants.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott  had already asked the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for $30 million to send more troops to the Texas-Mexico border.
