CORRAL DE PIEDRA, Mexico — The economic downturn in the U.S. is having an impact on immigration. Not only are fewer people coming to this country to work, but there is now evidence that some immigrants who have lost their jobs are returning to Mexico.

Angela Kocherga traveled to central Mexico, a region that is home to many immigrant families.
