MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Seven people were injured in a series of explosions at a propane company just outside of Conroe Tuesday afternoon, according the Montgomery County Fire Department.

It happened at the AmeriGas plant in the 10900 block of FM 1485 near Waukegan Road around noon.

Witnesses said workers were loading propane tanks on a carousel when a leak appeared to set off a series of explosions.

Two people were critically burned and airlifted to area burn centers, according to the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's office. Five others were rushed to area hospitals by ambulance.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 12:30 p.m.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the explosions.
