DALLAS - Presumed Republican nominee for president Mitt Romney will be in North Texas today to raise funds for his campaign.

The former Massachusetts governor is in the Lone Star State for a two-day tour.

His visit started in Fort Worth with an appearance at Southwest Office Systems in Fort Worth. He addressed a large crowd at about 2:10 p.m.

Romney will also make a stop at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas, where tickets start at $2,500 for a general reception. Donors who cut a check for $50,000 for the GOP or raise $200,000 from others get a private reception and dinner with Romney at the home of developer Harlan Crow.

On Wednesday, he will return to Fort Worth for a breakfast at the home of Kit Moncrief and then head down to San Antonio for a luncheon and onto Houston for an evening reception.

Romney has not responded to an invitation to attend the Republican Party of Texas State Convention, which starts Thursday.
