DALLAS - Former President George H. W. Bush has been hospitalized in a Houston hospital for nearly a week after being treated for bronchitis.
He was admitted to Methodist Hospital the day after Thanksgiving for bronchitis.
According to a hospital spokesman, Bush, 88, was successfully treated for bronchitis, but remains hospitalized because of a "lingering cough," CNN reported. He is expected to be discharged by the weekend.
President George. W. Bush and his wife Laura reportedly visited the elder Bush last weekend.
