SAN ANTONIO -- Two women are facing criminal charges following an assault with baseball bats on a man inside a north-side home in San Antonio.

Police responded to the 1600 block of W. Mariposa Dr.,  just after 3:30 a.m., for a reported aggravated robbery. What police found were the remnants of a violent domestic dispute, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Investigators said a woman had left the home after she and her husband had an altercation earlier in the night, only to return later with her sister and baseball bats.

According to SAPD, the sisters attacked the woman’s husband and his sister inside the home before allegedly fleeing with a 3-year-old girl.

Officers tracked the women, and the toddler, to an apartment complex in the 700 block of N. San Marcos St., just west of downtown.

The women were arrested and the child was not harmed, police said.

According to SAPD, one of the women is 29-year-old Kristin Sanchez. She was picked up for an outstanding warrant for assault and theft.
