Killeen police officer dies of injuries suffered in shooting

KILLEEN (AP) — A Killeen police officer who was shot in the line of duty Friday has died.

Police said Detective Charles "Chuck" Dinwiddie passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon.

Bell County jail records show 49-year-old Marvin Louis Guy of Killeen was being held Saturday on three counts of attempted capital murder.

Dinwiddie was one of four officers who were shot early Friday at an apartment. A police statement said two were treated and released, and the third was hospitalized in good condition.

Jail records do not list an attorney for Guy, was being held on $3 million bond. Killeen police also detained a 50-year-old woman.
