DALLAS - An overnight standoff that began with a fight in a Dallas parking lot ended with the suspect surrendering to police peacefully.

Authorities were alerted to a man who holed himself up in a condominium at the Meadow North Condominiums late Sunday morning on Meadow Road near Central Expressway.

The incident began with a fight with a suspect and an unknown person in a parking lot near the apartment complex. Dominique Hines, a security guard, broke up the fight and was able to grab a hold of the suspect for a short time.

"I broke the fight up," Hines said. "And I grabbed him basically and held him down for a little while and then he got out of my hold."

The man fled the scene and holed himself up inside a nearby condominium, which SWAT teams surrounded. The standoff lasted for several hours until the suspect peacefully gave himself up around 3 a.m. Monday.

No one was hurt.
