HOUSTON — An Amber Alert is over, and three missing children are now safe.
Police found the youngsters — ages five, three and one — although it was not made clear where they were or who they were with.
The alert was issued shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. At the time, investigators believed the mother of the children, 27-year-old Vickierae Lopez, took them from their grandmother's house in northeast Harris County and might have been heading to Las Vegas by way of Dallas.
Lopez reportedly texted her mom, saying she was thinking about killing herself with the children in the car.
The children were found around midnight and Lopez is in custody.
Lopez has been separated from her military husband, who is stationed in Las Vegas for about one month.
