SPRING, Texas – A federal agent shot and wounded a burglary suspect while defending his north Harris County home on Sunday morning, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives shot a male suspect who had entered the man’s home at 4 a.m. in the 5300 block of Brookway Willow Drive.
The suspect was in the middle of searching the residence when he was confronted by the ATF agent, who discharged his weapon at him, deputies said.
The burglary suspect fled the scene in an older, white-colored Chevrolet van, investigators said. Precinct 4 Constables caught up to the suspect and were able to stop the vehicle near Kuykendahl and FM 1960.
The suspect was found to be shot in the arm and transported to the hospital in good condition, deputies said.
