JOURDANTON -- Jourdanton police were dispatched to South Texas Regional Medical Center early Thursday morning, where a woman allegedly abandoned her 9-year-old daughter.

According to police, the woman left the child with no intention of returning for her.

After interviewing the child and hospital workers, JPD was able to track down 31-year-old Patricia Woodrow at a mobile home in Pleasanton.

Police arrested Woodrow for abandoning and endangering a child without intent to return, which is a third degree felony.

Woodrow was also charged with resisting arrest as well as assault of a peace officer, which is a third degree felony.

Woodrow is currently being held in the Atascosa County Jail on a $153,000 bond.

Jourdanton police and Child Protective Services are currently working to ensure the child will be in safe hands from this point forward.
