HOUSTON — A man was reportedly being taunted by a crowd of people in southeast Houston Wednesday afternoon and attempted to run them over with a car following a fatal shooting.
The incident happened in the 6000 block of Belarbor Street.
According to police, 20-year-old Demarcus Harrison was shot and killed outside an apartment complex by a man with whom he had had an ongoing dispute.
Paul Callis, the victim's grandfather, was distraught.
"He didn't deserve that," Callis said.
Tensions between both families escalated as the father of the shooting suspect was being taunted by the crowd. Police were already on the scene.
The suspect's father drove recklessly through a crowd of more than 20 people in a silver car. He jumped out of the car with it still running, and was tackled by police and taken to jail.
No one else was hurt.
