Spring High School
SPRING, Texas -– District officials announced plans for extra security on the campus of Spring High School where a deadly stabbing happened earlier this week.
At a press conference on Friday, school administrators said everyone returning to campus on Monday morning will have to go through metal detectors.
Students will have to go through either a wand or a walk-through detector before getting on school grounds. School officials said the detectors will be the same ones they use at some football games and other special events.
Spring H.S. will also have extra Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies on-campus throughout the day, and the number of entrances, usually 15, will be reduced.
The district has not decided how long the extra security precautions will be in place.
Classes were cancelled Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday after one student was killed and three were injured in a gang-related fight, deputies said.
A suspect was taken into custody at the scene and was later charged with murder.
