HOUSTON—The victim of what authorities called an improper relationship with a former Humble High School teacher spoke out for the first time publicly about the ordeal.

“It was totally like a curveball for me in my life,” she said. “I just want the truth to be out.”

In March, authorities arrested former dance instructor Amanda Feenstra on a felony charge.

The victim said Feenstra used to shower her with compliments.

“She was just like, ‘you’re a great dancer. You’re so special.”’

It wasn’t long, she said, until the dance instructor and the then 17-year-old student became more like friends.

“We would hang out like we were on the same level.”

But that all changed one night when she was sitting in Feenstra’s car.

“She talked about wanting to kiss me. And then she kissed me.”

The kiss, she said, would lead to sex on multiple occasions in the school’s dance room and at Feenstra’s home when her husband was away.

“I didn’t have the tools or the wisdom to break it off.”

But she tried to several months later. She said even after she graduated from high school, Feenstra wouldn’t leave her alone and continued to stalk her. That’s when she confided in another teacher about the relationship.

Authorities arrested Feenstra soon after.

Calls to Feenstra’s attorney were not returned. The victim wants to make sure what happened to her never happens again.

“I was manipulated like a puppet. I don’t want her to get away with it.”
