AUSTIN -- A mother facing an intoxication manslaughter charge in the death of her four-year-old daughter now faces new charges -- murder and aggravated assault.

The accident that killed the young girl happened Feb. 19 when her mother, 31-year-old Shea Goss, drove their SUV off the Riata Vista Circle into a cluster of oak trees.

All of the three children in the vehicle were transported to Dell Children's Hospital. Two had life-threatening injuries, and one had minor injuries. Four-year-old Averee Goss was found unresponsive on the floor of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at Dell Children's. Her twin sister  and her five-year-old brother were wearing seat belts.

Police on the scene found two bottles of prescription pills for Goss in the front seat of the SUV. One was a muscle relaxer; the other medication is used to relieve pain. Police say both medication bottles displayed warnings about how the drug may cause dizziness or drowsiness, and to use care when operating a car.

In addition to Tuesday's murder charge and two aggravated assault charges, Goss was previously charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second degree felony, and two counts of intoxication assault, both third degree felonies.

She is currently in custody in the Travis County Jail.

A website has been created to help the Goss family. You can find it here.

A Facebook page has also been set up to coordinate helping the family.
