SAN MARCOS -- The emergency situation at Texas State University is over and classes are on schedule.

Texas State University officials reported a bomb threat evacuation of three buildings on its San Marcos campus Thursday morning.

The threat came in via e-mail around 7:30 a.m. to an admissions counselor in Houston, according to the university. The university says the counselor told her supervisors, who then called the Texas State University Police Department.

The university says it evacuated and closed its Admissions Building when the threat came in. The school then evacuated San Jacinto and Tower Halls because they are within perimeter of the building. According to the school's Twitter account, students and staff members were told to "stay away from those areas."

The Austin Police Department's bomb squad and the FBI, as well as local law enforcement agencies, are on campus investigating.
