Turbulence injures 12 aboard Houston-bound United Airlines flight

HOUSTON—Twelve passengers injured on a  United Airlines plane were being checked out at Bush Intercontinental Airport Wednesday after the flight experienced turbulence, according to the FAA.

The Houston Fire Department was on hand to check the passengers when Flight 1727 from Tampa/ St. Petersburg landed at Gate E1 shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The FAA said the plane experienced the turbulence incident over Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The injured passengers sustained minor bumps and bruises. There were 146 total passengers on board.
