FORT WORTH - Science, technology, engineering - oh my! The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is gearing up for Engineers Week with fun, hands-on activities for the whole family. Guests can explore chroma key technology with IBM Engineers and fly a Lockheed Martin fighter in the flight simulator.
Engineers from Lockheed Martin, Society of Women Engineers, Future City Competition and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers will be on hand to answer any questions about their field of study and how to pursue an engineering career.
"It's a very educationally, stimulating experience for families and for students in particular, and in the case of companies like ours, we're going to need to hire tens of thousands of new engineers in the next few years so this is very important outreach for us," said Norman Robbins,a spokesman for Lockheed Martin.
The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History hopes that Engineer Week will inspire students to consider studying science and mathematics.
Engineer Week runs through February 26.
