The best deals around sometimes start with picking up your cellphone and adding a few apps. There are dozens and dozens of apps that will help you save money.

THE COUPONS APP

The Coupons App displays coupons and discount codes. For anyone who has gotten to a store or restaurant and wished for a discount, this is the app to download. It’s a great way to keep up with good sales.

RETAIL ME NOT

This app will allow you to use it as an app or print coupons from Retail Me Not. The company's headquarters is located in Austin. This app makes it easy to search for the coupons you want, check out daily "Hot Deals" or browse the categories and trending deals to find the best offers available. Retail Me Not is a collection of coupon web sites.

CARTWHEEL

Check out local stores for great coupon apps. Target started the cartwheel app last year. Open the app in the store. Whatever you buy, just check to see if it’s on the list. This app usually has the staples like eggs, milk and several brands of paper. Once you have coupons in your cartwheel cart, the cashier will scan your bar code at the register. Save from 5 percent to as much as 25 to 50 percent off certain items.

Check for an app from your favorite store and often the app has coupons attached that the store wants you to use.

GROUPON

Groupon was launched in 2008. The app has a group of discounts. It’s an oldie in the tech world, but goodie. Groupon has added more than just one deal a day. There are dozens of deals in everything from food to clothes and vacations. There are daily deals so you can purchase a deal in the morning and use it for lunch an hour later.
