Hats off to the Arlington Police Department this week. They managed to track down and arrest a suspect in a hit-and-run just as he was about to leave the country.

It’s this week’s Uncut commentary.

Omar Mohammad was all set to fly to Jordan Wednesday night. Police say he’d packed his bags, bought his ticket, and was at the airport waiting to fly out when they tracked him down.

They allege he has a little unfinished business before he can take any vacation time from his job at an Arlington garage.

Mohammad is accused of running over 73-year-old Terry Pinkston last weekend, then driving off.

Luckily, a passerby saw Pinkston and called 911. Today, he’s got broken ribs and vertebrae, but Terry Pinkston survived.

Police say a tip turned up a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle and information Mohammad had replaced the windshield on that car after the accident.

To be clear, Omar Mohammad is innocent until proven guilty. That will be determined at trial. But of course, he had to be here to have that trial.

Now he will, courtesy of the Arlington police.
