I'm praying for a break this weekend from what seems to have been an unprecedented week of events in the news.
It's this week's Uncut commentary.
On Monday, the murder of a pregnant woman and her unborn child in Dallas signaled the beginning of very unusual week.
Little did we know...
As police surrounded the house in which a suspect in the shooting was barricaded, word came of explosions in Boston at the end of the marathon.
We knew it would bad, and it met our expectations. Three dead, among them an eight-year-old. It was no "accident," and it was still Monday.
Tuesday was the Kaufman County arrest of Kim Williams, charged in what are collectively called the "D.A. murders."
We weren't quite finished reeling from that when the sky erupted over West, Texas Wednesday; an explosion so large, we have to go back more than 60 years to find something equally devastating, with the Texas City explosion.
Now, as West recovers, we're back to Boston, where there's gunfire and a major city on lockdown.
I'm looking forward to returning to the new normal. You know: threats from North Korea, drought, sequestration.
Not to belittle that, but it sure seems like a break from the past few days.
Those are my thoughts, tell me your thoughts at email@example.com.
