IRVING — At least two firefighters were injured battling a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Saturday evening.

The fire, in the 4100 block of West Northgate Drive, was just southeast of the airport in a three-story building at the Eagle Crest Apartment Homes.

A fire department spokesperson said one firefighter was burned and another was injured. The extent of their injuries was not given.

A witness said she heard a "boom" before the fire broke out; it was raining and lightning at the time.
