ARLINGTON — Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes, NFL rushing champion LeSean McCoy had 120 yards and a receiving score and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-22 in a win-or-go-home game for the NFC East title Sunday night.

The Cowboys (8-8), with Kyle Orton filling in two days after Tony Romo had back surgery, lost to a division rival with a playoff berth on the line for the third straight year.

SECOND QUARTER UPDATE

ARLINGTON — The Cowboys suffered another costly miscue, but Dallas kept fighting and now trail the Eagles 17-10 at the half of their battle for the NFC East title.

The Cowboys were putting together a good drive near the end of the half when Kyle Orton threw a pass behind Jason Witten and it bounced off his pads and was picked off by linebacker Mychal Kendricks.

The Eagles turned the mistake into points seemingly instantly.  It took just 2 plays and 34 seconds.  Nick Foles hit Brent Celek for 35 yards then went hurry-up and the same duo burned the Cowboys for a 14 yard touchdown to put the Eagles on top 17-7.

The Cowboys answered with a 2-minute drive led by Kyle Orton and Jason Witten.  The Cowboys were forced to settle for a 44 yard Dan Bailey field goal to make it 17-10 at the half.

Kyle Orton hooked up with a pair of rookies on the Cowboys only touchdown drive.  He found Terrance Williams down the seam for 39 and then connected with Gavin Escobar for a 17 yard touchdown play that ended with a  high-light reel head-over-heels dive into the end zone for the second round pick that cut the Eagles lead to 10-7.

FIRST QUARTER UPDATE

In a battle for the NFL's final playoff spot, the Cowboys committed a costly turnover early, leading to the games only score and the Eagles lead 3-0 after the first 15 minutes.

On the first drive of the game, the Cowboys were marching downfield when DeMarco Murray fumbled and Bradley Fletcher recovered at the Eagles 24 yard line.

The Eagles turned the miscue into three points on a seven-play, 48-yard drive ending with a 47-yard Alex Henery field goal to make it 3-0 Philadelphia.
