DALLAS — The campaign against saggy pants spearheaded by Dallas City Council member Dwaine Caraway is taking a new approach.

In the past, campaigns have urged the young men who actually wear their pants far below the waistline to "pull 'em up."

But the new idea, outlined at the National Sagging Pants Summit at Dallas City Hall on Saturday is to target the kids who dress well, using their influence to inspire change.

"We're going to have them sign pledges and to form an organization that will help us spread the word and will encourage others to not sag," Caraway said, adding that pulling up pants will build self-respect, and give young men a chance for better jobs.
