David Sanchez was born in the Rio Grande Valley and moved to Denton when he was three-years-old. He is a first generation Mexican-American. His father, Arnulfo Sanchez was a small business owner in Denton. His Mother, Godeleva Sanchez was not only a homemaker but worked as cafeteria lady at Tomas Rivera Elementary School and later as a custodian at the University of North Texas. David Sanchez is a product of the Denton ISD school system. David has been a Democrat for as long as he can remember. When David was in fourth grade his school put on a mock presidential election. David knew then that he was a democrat and became a fan of Bill Clinton.
David recalls the first time he voted was when he was 18 years old. He was inspired by Tony Sanchez, another Mexican American Candidate that was running for Governor of Texas. David was also very excited to vote for Ron Kirk the former Mayor of Dallas who was running for United States Senate.Read More
