DALLAS — A rally is planned for Sunday afternoon in support of Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price.
Several speakers are scheduled, including Georgetown University professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson.
The rally will take place at the St. Luke Community United Methodist Church at 5710 East R.L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas at 4:30 p.m.
Late last month, the FBI searched Price's home and offices, taking boxes of financial records and computer files.
Investigators also scoured the homes of his political consultant Kathy Nealy and his personal assistant Dapheny Fain. None of them have been charged with any crime.
Commissioner Price is no stranger to controversy. His name is synonymous with Dallas County politics for his outbursts as much as what he's done for the community.
He has served as the District 3 commissioner since 1985, and he was the first African-American elected to the court.
