ABC News and CNN are reporting that President Obama will nominate Sen. John Kerry to be the next Secretary of State.
Due to the tragedy in Connecticut, the nomination won't be announced for a few days.
On Thursday, UN Ambassador Susan Rice withdrew her name from consideration for the job as the nation's top diplomat, which is being vacated by Hillary Clinton.
Kerry is the senior senator from Massachusetts, and was the Democratic nominee for president in 2004. He's currently chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
