PLANO — There is no decision on whether the City of Plano will give its official logo a facelift.
On Monday night, the City Council discussed a new design for the stylized "P," but told staff to return next meeting with a final proposal.
Members did decide to stay with the tagline "City of Excellence" instead of switching to "People Connect Here."
Plano city leaders approved spending up to $55,000 on the project.
Some Council members said the logo re-do isn't needed, while others said an update with bolder colors makes the symbol stand out.
If a change is eventually approved, replacing existing logos would become part of routine maintenance.
