DALLAS — Belo Corp., the company that owns WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth, announced Monday it will host a live debate along with the Dallas Morning News next month featuring Texas' Republican U.S. Senate candidates.
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst; former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz; former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert; and former ESPN analyst Craig James have all accepted invitations to take part in the April 13 event.
The debate will be broadcast on WFAA Channel 8 and on Belo stations in San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Other radio and TV stations statewide are expected to relay the debate as well.
WFAA anchor John McCaa will serve as moderator, and a panel of journalists from Belo stations and The Dallas Morning News will question the candidates.
